Taki Tate

An Onigiri-ya serving pure handheld Japanese deliciousness in the form of triangular nori wrapped rice, stuffed with various savory fillings. Taki Tate delivers fun surprise and delight. Developing this brand look and feel, we intended to bring an irreverent playfulness that evokes a smile and youthful excitement. The name literally translates to ‘Freshly Made’ often a phrase used when rice is ready and is contextually equivalent to ‘come and get it.’ There’s a rhythmic, sing-songy energy you can’t help but say over and over, which leant it self well to an illustration style full of repeated elements. The rice itself becomes a design element to create vibrant patterns. Needless to say, it was a lot of fun to work on.
